Preparation Program

The key to success is preparation, but most mission preparation courses are designed for adults. For families moving to a new cultural setting or simply going on short term mission, Kath provides an interactive tailored two- day or four-day program for all ages.

  • Learn games and discussion starters to help the whole family express their excitement and worries.

  • Create tools to help families stay connected to extended family, friends and precious parts of their culture and identity.

  • Build visual aids to help everyone understand the process of transition.

  • Receive additional materials to support your child or young person during this transition.

Debriefing

  • Provide preventative care for children and young people transitioning between cultures, through an in-person or online debriefing session. Debriefing allows children and young people the opportunity to share and reflect on their experiences.

  • Help children begin grief-processing associated with transition.

  • Detect emotional patterns to assist parents in finding effective child-specific strategies to assist in transition.

  • Assess emotional wellbeing and receive recommendations for potential follow-up care

Child Safety

  • Child Safety is in an important part of supporting our children living in new cultural contexts.

  • Kath offers age specific training for children and young people with skills to protect themselves and get help when they need it. Training is based on materials from Second Step: Child Protection Unit.
